Foundation Course

Foundation courses are basic courses required by all FSRD students before learning the specific skills of their respective study programs. This basic course is the foundation for UK FSRD students. Maranatha to study the characteristics of the UK FSRD. Maranatha as well as the basic knowledge and important skills required by students of fine arts, design, and architecture. In each basic course students learn basic theory, technique, and aesthetics; the peculiarities of local Indonesian culture; even cross-prodi collaboration.

The basic courses in question consist of studio courses (2D Composition, 3D Composition, Drawing I) and theory. In the 2015 Curriculum, Foundation Courses are spread over two semesters with a fairly even number so that Semester 1 and Semester 2 courses are often referred to as Joint Year Courses.

While in the 2020 Curriculum, the number of Foundation Courses is less even though it does not differ too much from the 2015 Curriculum. Foundation Courses consist of three (3) studio courses with a total of 12 credits and three (3) theoretical courses with a total of 7 credits in Semester 1, as well as one theoretical course totaling three (3) credits in Semester 2. This applies to both undergraduate and diploma programs. Therefore, Semester 1 courses are often referred to as Joint Semester Courses.
