MBKM 20 Credits – EXPERIENCE HERITAGE
MBKM Research is a complete package regarding the introduction of history & culture related to design and recognizing the potential of tourist destinations by getting to know the surrounding environment directly or virtually. Knowledge and practice of interviews are obtained to gain oral skills and train intuition to better understand historical buildings & their environment. This package also offers exploration of skills in designing manually or virtually within the scope of heritage areas/buildings. In addition to obtaining oral skills, the ability to write academically well and correctly is also obtained as the final result of the research.
MBKM Research or Research means the lecture process through research activities carried out through the following activities:
- Traveling or traveling directly to the Research Location, namely Jamblang, Cirebon to get to know the environment & heritage buildings and try local culinary cuisine.
- Virtual traveling to Jamblang and other historical places to get data to support research.
- Experiencing and interacting (interviews) with the community around Jamblang, Cirebon to understand the area.
- Vlogging as documentation on “outing” locations
- Exploration in designing research heritage areas/buildings either manually or virtually.
- Presentation & Writing articles based on research results to be published both on a National/International scale.

MBKM Research Procedure
MBKM 20 Credits – Internship
This internship activities is supported by the Ministry of Education and Culture to find vacancies according to student interests under Freedom of Learning Independent Campus program. The general description of this activity includes:
a) Obligations for internship activities depend on each company and university.
b) The form of activity reporting is carried out outside the Merdeka Campus platform.
c) Benefits vary by company
Requirements to apply for Freedom of Learning Independent Campus Internship:
- active student (minimum 6th semester student, have taken DI-361 Interior Design Studio 3 and have passed minimum 96 credits)
- get recommendation to apply from the Study Program through the approval of their academic supervisor
- GPA >3
