During my college years, I gained knowledge that I can apply in today’s work field. Skills that I trained on campus has helped my business in illustration today. In addition, adequate facilities, a comfortable environment, and supportive friends helped me in developing my interests and talents.

During my undergraduate study at Maranatha’s Art and Design, I got substantial experiences more than I expected. The academic community, especially in our faculty, not only provided the knowledge needed by students, it also directed us to shape our organizational skills and to develop our potential.
One of the most memorable things from my experience as a student and the member of student association is when I was involved as a committee for the national-scale Interior Design event, TKMDII (Temu Karya Mahasiswa Desain Interior Indonesia, Indonesian Interior Design Student Work Meeting) which was hosted by Maranatha. Our lecturers, staffs, senior and junior students, and also our alumni worked together to make the event a success.
Studying at Maranatha’s Art and Design has been the valuable, enjoyable and delighted experiences for me. Hopefully Maranatha will continue to advance and improve its quality to equip the prospective creative workers excel in their fields.
Studying at Maranatha was the most enjoyable and rewarding experience for me. I developed my hard skills through the learnings provided by the lecturers – as well as my soft skills through organizations and internships.
Dozens opportunities for self-development, especially in the Bachelor Program of Interior Design, made me take the chances. I feel their benefits in the workfield now. I am able working both individually and with the team, pursuing the datelines, making good decisions, improving the projects, and practicing many others skills in my current line of work.
This college experience also encourages me to develop my potential continously. What I have achieved so far cannot be separated from the support of the lecturers, staffs, and the excellent social environment while I was studying at Maranatha. I feel proud and honored to be a part of the academic community of Maranatha Christian University. Thank you Maranatha
Learning is not enough, being useful from what has been learned is more valuable!
My undergraduate study at Maranatha was a story of a rewarding and enjoyable experience. During four years learning, my major and the Faculty of Art and Design have provided me the guidances in studying design with an in-depth theories and practices that are valuable for my job prospects. My comrades in arms and the lecturers always accompany and support me in the ups and downs during my college years. Despite the fact that I am a Muslim, there is no discrimination in this campus environment.
Maranatha is a very comfortable campus for learning and being creative. It provides complete facilities for students such as libraries, health and dental clinics, banks and various organizations. Not only the knowledges, I also got soft skills from organizational activities and character building programs. For the last two years of my study, I received a 75% scholarship award per semester related to my achievements and financial condition.
Four years doesn’t seem like enough for me and I will continue to miss the convenience of studying on this campus. It’s time for me to become an independent person and to achieve success in the professional field. Thank you to all the lecturers, staffs, colleagues and everything that has supported me to become a successful person.
Taking the major of Interior Design at Maranatha Christian University was my desire, but as time went on, I realized that it was a gift on itself.
During these four years, I get not only knowledge in the interior field. The lecturers, who were sociable and encouraging, empowered us with the ethics and social characteristics from each individual that can be followed by examples. Various program activities and facilities held by the university are precious learnings during the lecture period.
All the things I got made me ready to brighten the society as an interior design graduate. Thank you very much to all lecturers, staffs and employees for the four years I studied in this Interior Design Department.
The college times always have interesting stories for us to remember and share. For me that story was created on 2011 in one of Bandung’s universities. As an overseas teen from Belitung I studied with the hope of doing the best and as much as possible to make the parents proud.
Over time, the lectures can be carried out well through the guidance of lecturers and a supportive campus environment. Relations between students are well established through the programs implemented by the university.
As a final-year student, it’s time to be aware of your own needs that can support and guide you to reach the goals. The facilities and programs implemented by the university are more than sufficient for us to maximize. Being complacent about academic education is an obstacle for some students to develop themselves in non-academic fields. Sometime we wrongly blame the campus for some mistakes that occurred.
Four years have passed. I still feel lacking and longing for the comfort of life as a student. However, it’s the time to depart from the house (campus) and to test the academic and non-academic learning outcomes that have been obtained during the education period. Thank you to all the lecturers, staffs, colleagues and everything that supports this overseas teen to become a better person.
“Not the gun behind the man, but man behind the gun.”
Studying at FSRD Maranatha is very interesting and has many challenges. We learn to face the work field and deal with clients with the process similar to what we faced in college.
Maranatha’s Art and Design is a place where I am able to learn, to develop and to create. I am proud since I have been taught and understand various things trough the lecturers. I have learned a lot of knowledges, preparing myself for the work field related to branding, illustration, packaging design and many more. I am satisfied, apart from studying I also have a good relations with my college friends.
The most memorable thing was when my group did a comparative study at Jatim Park (East Java) for a collaborative exhibition to design the zoo in Lembang. I learned to socialize, developing ideas and working with dissenting opinions. I also would like to thank the university for helping me to obtain an internal scholarship and Scranton Women’s Scholarship from Korea until I finished my studies at Maranatha. I also thank my supervisors who have been patient and spending their time to help me achieve the the best graduate of the Visual Communication Design Department.
Hopefully Maranatha will be more advanced on educating and improving the quality its students and producing a generation that is able to make this almamater proud.
Fine Arts Study Program that Maranatha brings has given a lot of knowledges about art and the creation of artworks as the effective instrument to respond various kinds of contemporary issues. I was also taught to be able to contribute on the development of Indonesian contemporary arts and to enter the art market – both in the mainstream art (galleries, art museums, and collectors) and sidestream art (freelance, illustrator, and the scope of buying and selling commissions). The perspective which so far has proven on supporting me, and even helping me financially to undergo my master education.
Kevin Lilliana is happy to be part of the Maranatha FSRD family, he has gained a lot of knowledge, and his assignments are challenging but we enjoy them because the lecturers are understanding and fun.
