Based on the decision of the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT), the Interior Design Department of Maranatha Christian University has succeeded in increasing its accreditation predicate to A. This has been confirmed by the Head of the department, Erwin Ardianto Halim, S. Sn., M.F.A. that the department has received the results of this accreditation on May 28, 2019. “The results of the accreditation were received on May 28, 2019 through the Sapto BAN-PT website and on May 29, 2019 we received the SK and BAN-PT certificate,” he explained.

In the accreditation process which was previously carried out at Maranatha Christian University on May 22, 2019, Erwin revealed that his party had given the best, both before and during the preparation of the forms. This accreditation certificate is valid for the next five years, starting from May 28, 2019 to May 28, 2024.

“In my opinion, this is a very proud achievement as a result of the efforts of the entire academic community. Accreditation is the result of a process that is carried out continuously which is a reflection of the department’s hard work in advancing lecturers and students, both academically and non-academically,” said Irena Vanessa G., S.T., M.Com. as Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design.

Irena also revealed things that the faculty and the department would pay attention to in facing the accreditation process in the future. “The faculty and the departments within it will be agile in revolutionizing the academic process, so that lecturers can develop themselves according to the development of science and technology and can also produce design and fine arts graduates who are sensitive to the needs of the community. There is no need to be afraid of the issue of professions that will disappear or that everything will be replaced by technology, because the aspects that require answers in terms of design and art are actually endless,” said Irena.

Erwin also did not forget to express his gratitude to all parties who have helped this accreditation process. “Thank you very much for the support of all parties, from YPTKM, Maranatha Christian University, to alumni and stakeholders who have helped and supported the achievement of this ‘A’ accreditation. Especially, we thank the Lord Jesus Christ for His wonderful grace,” said Erwin.

Congratulations to the Interior Design Department of Maranatha Christian University. (gn)
