“Cultural Diffusion” is the theme of the joint workshop between the Faculty of Arts and Design and Keimyung University. The event which will last for approximately eight days (30/01 – 06/02), is attended by talented students who will produce to-be-exhibited extraordinary works.

If talking about culture, Indonesia and Korea must have quite significant differences. In this workshop , students collaborate to make clothing that has elements from two cultures. Besides its difficulty, the participants also have only so much time to produce their best works.

In the process, students can casually discuss, design concepts, and make presentations before diving into the manufacturing process. On the second day, they are asked to present their plans to the lecturers. They are also given input and assessment to run the project more efficiently in the future.

Prof. Heejung Han of the Department of Fashion Design, Keimyung University, also hopes that the program will attract more exchange students in the future. “Students of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design in their third year are expected to be able to come and study at Keimyung. Here, I am also very curious about the designs and works that they will exhibit on next Monday [translation],” she explained.

It can be seen that there is a harmonious and compact collaboration between the two parties. The participants also try hard to bring this “Cultural Diffusion” theme to life.

Apart from maintaining good relations between the two universities, this event is also a big hit for both parties. It is hoped that the participants can establish good relations between universities and certainly, produce amazing works.
