The most important thing in making videos is story telling. If we can tell stories in the videos we make, the audience will be interested in watching and maybe even following our social media accounts for further content. So, relatability is important,” he explained.

Meizal Rossi is a content creator who has been in the field for approximately 6 years. From all these years, he has got a lot of experience and knowledge that he could share with the seminar participants.

During the 2 hour long conversation, Rossi talked about the motives behind his passion for making videos. He said that his passion started from when he liked traveling.

When traveling, I usually take my camera with me. Whether it’s going to the mountains or the beach, I’ll definitely capture it. Well, it’s at those moments when I feel like I want to start working on making videos,” he said.

In making videos, of course, it is not easy to find our very style. It takes practice and experience until we can finally find a suitable style of interacting virtually.

However, he said that the most important aspect in this industry is the ability to write good storytelling. No matter how good the video is, if the delivery of the story cannot reach the hearts of the audience, of course, it is useless.

In addition, he also shared his experiences of being sponsored by several well-known brands, such as Danone and Tango. He could achieve that, because of his ability to make videos that are relatable and have excellent story-telling.

He argues that people’s goals in creating video contents are different. Some want to go viral by following trends, channel their hobbies, or experiment with it only. Most importantly, please, create content that is honest and true to yourself, but don’t offend anyone.

We can praise or criticize anyone. Precisely in the content creation field, we really have to be honest as it is. As long as the honesty does not go too far and offend certain communities,” he said.

Interestingly, he admitted that this was his first time as a speaker at an educational institution. He used to be a resource person at the Indonesian ministries.

Of course, this is an honor for Maranatha Christian University, especially the Faculty of Art and Design.

Moreover, participants from internal and external part of the community, were quite enthusiastic about the seminar. Although this event was held in a hybrid manner, the participants in the Zoom Meeting remained active by asking interesting questions to the speakers. **auh
