Thursday, November 07, 2024, Evolusia 2024 Fashion Show was officially held at Hotel Gaia Lembang Bandung. Evolusia is a fashion show of the final work of students after studying for 3 years in the Diploma III Art and Design Program, Maranatha Christian University Bandung.

In this activity, there were 20 final project students who showed the results of their fashion collection designs with the theme “Optimism” with the hope that these young designers are always optimistic in facing the challenges of the global fashion industry. These young designers are also expected to contribute to the progress of fashion in Indonesia, so that later they always create new innovations in each of their works.

This year Evolusia collaborated with APPMI (Indonesian Fashion Entrepreneur Designer Association) West Java who also presented a fashion show with the theme “Dimensional” where there are 4 pillars in it, namely social impact, economics, post pandemic and culture.

This collaboration with APPMI has been going on for 4 years, with the aim of providing a forum for the younger generation, especially academics to always collaborate with practitioners so that in the future fashion fashion in Indonesia, especially West Java, always exists and provides new colors in every design.

Among the 20 final project students involved, there were 3 students who won awards, including Cathlin Audrey Wiratama getting Best All Around Performance, Terry Michael Surya getting Best Final Project and Jemima Periscilla getting Best Presentation & Portfolio.

Mrs. Grace Carolline, M.Ds. as the chief executive of Evolusia “Optimism” said that each collection displayed at this fashion show is the work and innovation of young designers. They designed in detail and did not forget to add the distinctive character of the designers themselves. Besides focusing on the design, the young designers also added a message that they are ready to face future challenges and will always give their best in each of their works.

The Diploma III Art and Design Program or better known as the Maranatha Fashion Study Program annually creates young designers who are competent and ready to answer the needs of the community both in terms of trends and current issues circulating. In his remarks Dr. Krismanto Kusbiantoro, S.T., M.T. as the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Creative Industries appreciated the hard work of the Study Program in implementing Evolusia every year, then at the end the Dean of FHIK stated that next year Fashion Maranatha will change from the Diploma III Program to the Bachelor Program.

Therefore, let’s wait for the next surprise prepared by Fashion Maranatha and how U.K. Maranatha as an academic prepares young designers to answer the needs of the fashion world market.
